A different technique was used to move the goldfish inside for the winter this season. Previously, I would start the tank inside a few weeks beforehand to get it cycled. This time I simply siphoned water from the pond directly into the tank through a basement window and moved the fish same day. Should be much less stressful – no temp change, no cycling issues.
