TJ’s the Man!

As expected, TJ led the pro bowl voting at outside linebacker this season.  With Chubb on the other side, it seems likely the next Pro Bowl will be a real sleeper, with nothing at all happening in the NFC offense.

He looks like how I feel about Trump in this picture!

Tomlin summed up TJ’s attributes well.  #90 looks like how I feel about Trump in this photo.

Looks Like Football Season's in the Crapper

Thanksgiving game with the Ravens now postponed for the 2nd time, until Tuesday.  At least I won’t be too disappointed about Pittsburgh missing the opportunity for another Super Bowl.  Anybody with the slightest bit of common sense and access to a television could have predicted the outcome of the 2020-1 NFL season, unless there is some reason to believe the NFL is any smarter about SARScoV2 than the government.

Sick players, schedule borked, what next?

Gotta love those plastic face shields.  What a fucking shitshow:  “Besides, it’s hard to make the Ravens solely responsible for the potential inability to play. As explained earlier today, the league allowed the Ravens to gather at the facility on Monday and Tuesday despite obvious evidence of an ongoing outbreak. The league wanted to preserve the Thanksgiving night game if it could. That calculated risk apparently backfired; if it keeps the Ravens from playing on Sunday, the Ravens can’t solely be faulted for that.”

Late Update 11/29:  Broncos QB’s all out with Covid today.  But they will play anyway.  What — a — fucking — shit — show.

Nice Buck!

Looks like going to high school with all the cowboys at Meade left Phoebe with a big ‘ol country streak in her.  My hunting days as a boy growing up in PA were short and unremarkable.  Glad to see Phoebe passing me up in ways I never imagined.

Can’t wait to see what that guy tastes like!

Tomlin's the Man

I wanted to smack him in the kisser for not kicking the game-ending FG 2 days ago, but it’s hard to argue with him on the coaching topic.  3rd most wins of all currently active, with most ever winning seasons says it all.  He’s had his detractors, mostly racist miscreants, I assume.  This year’s best-ever start now sitting at 8-0 can hardly be called a start any longer.  I could see it right from his start.

This is how it goes when people really “want” to work for you – commanding respect.

6-0, Headed for #7 at the Pandemic Bowl

Things almost went south after an impressive 1st half, but they held on for the win.  Will this be the season Pittsburgh emerges as the NFL’s premiere team for the seventh time in history?

Will TJ eclipse big brother as the most feared defensive player in the league this season?

“Or as T.J. Watt put it: “We won, but we’re not happy.”  Sounds like a winner, to me!

Trae Crowder for President!

Here’s your crossover candidate, if ever there was one.  Ran across this gentleman’s TouTube™ videos in the random search attempting to decide what to do next around here, while wasting time in home jail.  Planning an early parole release trip to Ace for deck hardware, conditions permitting.  Sane people don’t go near Home Depot around here anymore far as I can tell, from just the full parking lot.

I’m about halfway through his shyt now, after starting to get interested a few weeks ago, purely by random chance.  Carefully approached, he could easily go Dem, Repub or 3rd party and check every box.  The video below is where I first ran across this guy.  Pretty sure I’m a prime example of the middle-class Pennsylvania backwoods redneck version.  Apparently people like us had a better chance making it into the so-called “middle class,” north of the Mason-Dixon line.  Why don’t more people think like this?

Bill Cowher – NFL Hall of Fame

The Ravens getting trounced by the Titans was a real surprise.  But the only important news from yesterday was “Former Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Bill Cowher being elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the Class of 2020 Centennial Slate.”

Watching the young phenom Ben Rothlisberger take over to defeat the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL on February 5th, 2006 at Ford Field under Bill Cowher’s tutelage was certainly one of the most memorable games ever for me.  Counted out weeks before the season ended, Steelers were only the 4th wild card team, and 1st sixth seed to ever win a Super Bowl that season.  My money’s on Tennessee to do it again this year.

And you gotta love the way spittle flew when he got fired up.  Like I said in my last Steeler post:  Players are fun to watch, but winning games is all about the coaching.

Blame it on the Receivers?

The Steelers’ season was in the dumper by week three, IMHO.  I suppose Collins’ citing the lack of scoring as evidence against the wide-outs is a legitimate complaint, but why?  They are young, inexperienced and had little to work with, even early on before Ben got hurt.  Anyone watching the 1st couple games could see he was losing it.  2019 Steelers even being in contention at all by the end of the season under the circumstances, was good enough for me.

They get credit from me for playing hard in a miserably cold, wet game nobody gave them the slightest chance of winning.  Many Pittsburgh NFL players got some hard lessons over the past couple years.  Let’s see if anybody learned anything…

It's Tomlin!

I always liked this guy, and felt like he was a great coach, despite having no 1st-hand knowledge on the topic.  The team’s performance speaks for itself, with this year’s amazing comeback emphasizing that fact like never before.  The coaching staff is in my estimation, the biggest factor in any sports team’s success.  Of course it takes star players to win championships.  But even they go nowhere without a great coach tying it all together.  Pittsburgh’s ejected a couple high-profile examples recently.

Steelers in the Hunt!

Despite being the most banged-up I can ever remember, with an un-drafted rookie 3rd string QB at the helm, Pittsburgh is making yet another playoff run. The NFL makes these schedule changes towards the end of the season to highlight the hot teams and games with playoff implications.

Steelers participated in the biggest, most expensive (in terms of fines levied – $700k) brawl in NFL history with the Brown 2 weeks ago.  This week, the Browns learned their lesson:

Butthurt Cleveland snowflake.
