Troublemakers

Now I gotta start buggin’ em’ for more pics. Only got the one. Wasn’t gonna make another post until the 9th, just to prove myself wrong, but some things are more important that than Pootin‘s little war of aggression.

Serious Badassification

These baby’s used to just rain 500lb dumb bombs on Vietnam. Somebody should remind Pootin our guys play around with this Stuff all day for fun in the USAF. Just stop leaving them sitting on the ramp at Barksdale overnight! Nothing like a half dozen ALCM’s to ruin your day.

Every Damn Day

Teen’s Make-A-Wish soars from Buckley Space Force Base. This is also one of the things I like about the NFL. Not alot of organizations go the extra mile for this type Stuff.

Gary Rossington 1951-2023

These guys were my first big music crush. Juxtaposed with my current anti-southern political views, back in the day, I was a true southern-fried country rocker. Skynyrd, Outlaws, Credence Clearwater, Allman Brothers, Young, ZZ Top and the endless list of various blues artists were always favorites.

Alabama Misogyny

Crime, Politics ‘n Play – whodathunkit? Not that I would expect much different in a state where the dottering old woman governor is just one of many unabashed racists in that position all across the country. Her lack of interest in the misogyny topic likely aligns with her political support in that southern-fried attitude, deeply embedded all across the southern U.S. At the end of the U.S. Civil War, after finally realizing slavery was over, they decided to just sit on their money and fuck everybody else. Maybe steal a bit from welfare.

“Sexism is taught and reinforced in American society in a myriad of ways every day, big and small. It’s long past time we realized how young we start teaching children the message that boys are always, always superior and more deserving than girls, no matter the circumstances. The Hoover girls’ 5th-grade team is owed an apology from every single adult involved in this buffoonery.”

Those Alabama fuckwit senators Tuberville and Britt can go to Hell right along with their poverty-stricken state.

Officials Ruined it Again

It certainly will go down in the books as one of the best Super Bowls. Too bad the wrong team won. We need another rule implementing mandatory booth review on game-changing penalties, or anything in the Red Zone.

Let ’em play!

Best part, for me: “The group of seven female aviators flew in a diamond formation over the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where the Kansas City Chiefs are facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles.”

Neighborhood Graffiti Artists

Thought it was just a little snowball fight. Fucker ran off without his shoe on! 😆 Probably don’t like me calling the cops when they try riding their motorcycle in the park.

They did a pretty good dick ‘n balls in the driveway last week! 😉

Fuck Tony Dungy, NBC and FOX

I once admired Tony for his masterful insight gained through decades of wide-ranging NFL experience. This “one oh shyt, just erased a hundred atta-boys” for an NFL talking head-right-wing-religious whack-o.

All these holy rollers want is some feel-good corporeal validation for their irrational spiritual “beliefs.” They don’t give a shyt about anything or anybody but themselves. Unabated disinformation online and in the media everywhere is destroying society. Was it the price for getting into the broadcast booth? Good for you.

Just because football represents sporting from the Roman era, doesn’t mean the rest of the world wants to re-visit the dark ages.

Hamlin’s So-Called “Injury”

Naturally all NFL league and fandom is terribly concerned with and sympathetic to Damar’s condition. Another more subtle aspect of the scenario I’m worried about is the media continuing to push the false injury narrative. It’s more sensational that way – you know, like when they immediately started re-hashing the recent Tagovailoa case having absolutely nothing to do with or related to Hamlin’s event in any way whatsoever, except that it happened during a football game.

Damar was not injured. The play was not even an especially impactful one, by NFL standards. These type issues, far more common at the college and high school levels, are almost always worked out of the system by the time players get to the NFL. That’s why it was so shocking and rare – nothing to do with player safety or NFL medical issues. It’s just an unfortunate fact of life, overly sensationalized by the fake news media.

Here’s what an actual NFL-induced injury looks like.

Good luck and get better, Damar!

Steelers Still Alive

It’s just cruel how they stay in contention year after year. These guys are all amazing at this level. But I remember thinking Pickett looked a little extra special first time seeing him earlier in the season.

Franco Harris

Yesterday’s xmas eve game against Oakland in the Burgh was iconic on every level. It was breezy, snowing and cold, gettin’ colder the whole game – like Oakland’s slim lead. Many recognize the Oakland playoff game in 1972 held the moment where Pittsburgh’s NFL aspirations turned the corner to one of the most intimidating and dominating decades in NFL history. Everyone points to Brady and the Patriots in this vein, but Bradshaw, Harris and the rest of those guys did it back in the day when playing football was very different than today.

Franco didn’t quite make it to share in the 50th anniversary of that iconic event. The NFL world-over will always remember it. Thanks for the best xmas in quite some time, Franco!

Need a Quarterback

I’m not really sure why I’m even posting this. Seems to be a pretty common issue across the league. Maybe just hoping I might get to see a good game tonight has me thinking football today.

How long will the Roethlisberger vacuum last in Pittsburgh?
