NCAA Div.III Little East

…Will belong to Plymouth State in the Women’s Volleyball category this season.  Yesterday they extended their lead to 12-1, cruising to a 3-1 victory over Regis, with Francie leading the attack.  Keene State is the only other team even remaining in contention, at 10-3:

9-0 Baby!

Plymouth State are the ones to beat in Women’s Volleyball this year:

All strong wins – not a 3-2 in sight!

The Kid's Killin' It!

PSU Women’s Volleyball is off to a great start, at 4-0 after the first week’s play.  Francie put up awesome numbers, with the 2nd best kill % behind Carabeth in the 3rd match against Hartwick last Saturday.

That was a tough match, after dominating Colby-Sawyer:

Go Girl!!  Unfortunately she’s now down with another bout of antibiotic-resistant kidney infection.

Play Ball!

It’s my favorite time of year once again folks.  Temps are beginning to cool and I have plenty of footballs and volleyballs flying around on TV screens to keep me occupied.  Steelers are 3-0 on the pre-season, with Denver 0-3, so football’s looking likely to be a mixed bag again this season.  Francie’s 1st match is Friday, with the new schedule posted here.

Sophomore Year Begins

Volleyball season starts tomorrow with the first televised stream on the 4th. See a 2018 PSU V-Ball Schedule for all the details. Francie is nursing a sore shoulder from a summer injury and won’t be playing in at least the first match tomorrow. Her and 3 friends are in an apartment-type residence this year. I guess 1 year of dorm life was enough.

Francie 'n Annie

New Sophomore

We had little send-off dinner at the Mt. Fuji Japanese Hibachi joint with a few of Francie’s friends, Avery, Lauren and Geo. She flew back to New Hampshire yesterday, now with her eastern friend Annie for a couple days before moving into their new PSU digs. This year she leaves the old-school dorm for a little bigger condo-style unit. They plan to rent an off-campus house next year. Fun times.

Francie & Michelle spent a couple days in the mountains just prior. Here’s them at Hanging Lake:

2017 Plymouth State Homecoming

The volleyball team broke even, unfortunately getting beat 3-1 in close sets with their conference rivals from Eastern Connecticut. Then they sort of made up for it with a good 3-0 drubbing of the Presque Isle team in game 2. The football team romped 37-0. I was watching them warm up before the game and they are GOOD, with some really impressive young athletes throwing the ball around.

Then I spent a little time walking the campus snapping pics before the game. It’s easy to see why Francie wanted to come here – the whole campus is just beautiful. One interesting thing to me is that the school literally “is” the town. The Post Office and Town Hall sit on Main Street right in the middle of it, with University buildings and facilities of all kinds spreading out from there in every direction. I’ll have alot more pics to post after getting time to do that when I’m home next month.

Plymouth, NH

…is a very nice little college town! Even has a touch of touristy-resort feel to it, methinks. Small schedule change will have me here 4 days with just a day trip Acadia tomorrow. Francie is busy with a recruit, practice etc. But we had dinner earlier, and by all accounts seems to be doing remarkably well.
