Print Server configuration under
Linux
DHCP is the default IP setting for the
Print Server. Use the Bi-Admin utility to configure the
Print Server’s IP address and Subnet.
Configuration
Log in as root and start X
server
Network Configuration
- Go to Control Panel
- Click [Network Configuration]
- Click [Hosts]
- Click [Add]
- Fill out the following information
- IP = IP address
- Host name = KT******
- Nick name = Print Server
- Click [Done]
- Click [Quit]
Printer Configuration
- Click [Printer Configuration]
- Click [Add]
- Select Remote Unix (lpd)
Queue
- Click [OK]
- Fill out the following information
- names=lp
- Spool Directory=/usr/spool/HP
(This will create the queue directory)
- File size= (leave default)
- Remote Host=KT****** (Model
number of the Print Server)
- Remote Queue =L1
- Input filter = (Select your
printer. If your printer is not in the list, leave this
section blank)
- Click [OK]
- Click [lpd]
- Click [restart lpd]
- Click [OK]
- Click [Quit]
Print a Test Page
- Go to Control Panel
- Click [Printer Configuration]
- Highlight [ Lp Remote
lpd queue L1 on KT******] (this is the text that should
appear in the window)
- Click [tests]
- Click [Print ASCII test
page] or [Print PostScript test pag
